I am sure many of you have seen this clip on FB recently.
I am such a sucker for a good YouTube video and often run with my phone to find The Boyf yelling, "you HAVE to watch this! No, I swear this clip is the best one EVER!" and I say that every time.
But....this amazing granny is worth the watch.
Un-fucking-believable right? The dips, the lifts, the gasps from the audience.
There are so many amazing things on FB, YouTube and Twitter these days. I find myself spending countless hours scrolling down to just watch ONE more video clip in a half comatose state at 23:33 of a cute kitten or retarded German guy.
But. This has to be the most jaw-dropping amazing clip I have ever seen. Ever.
How she manages to do that so beautifully, one will never know. Imagine waking up one day and thinking, "Ooh. Today I shall paint pictures with sand."
Kseniya Simonova became famous when she won Ukraine's Got Talent in 2009.
(he got his damn feet wet....shit dawg! I ain't taking that shitty dawg home with me!)
...watched The Wolf of Wall Street. Love LOVE LOVE! I did cringe a bit during some of the sex scenes, but what a fucking good movie. And please if there is a God, make me look like Margot Robbie.
...replanted my fynbos garden thanks to the two mutts
...watched these two alcohol ads
Which one is your fav? They're both good but I love the second one.
...am on LEAVE!!!!!!! Can I get a woo hoo! I have been dying a slow death inside waiting for this day to arrive. This will be my home for the next week.
A cottage on a fruit farm, with NO electricity. Bliss.
...have been completely shocked by these videos for different reasons.
On first watching this video, I chuckled at the Afrikaans commentary and felt that blue volkswagen got exactly what it deserved. Later that day news broke that the elephant had been put down. Apparently it had been aggressive previously, but if you ask me, those retards aggravated it and when you see an elephant flapping its ears back off. The elephant is such a beautiful animal, it is heartbreaking!
This next video is about a pregnant lady's strange fetish with eating something weird....watch it here.
...have continued the #100HappyDays challenge. Read about it here. It really is making me appreciate the smaller things in life.
I can't get enough of Die Antwoord's latest music video. It's almost like having to look at a car crash, you can't stop yourself. The more I watch it the more I like it...
My favourite part is when she sings the lyrics "a techno beat" and this overweight black girl dances in the periphery, flipping hilarious.
The lyrics are some thing else, "you know me, but ek ken jou nie", "oh jere, God se Jesus" and "bly maar motherfu*%ers".
Set in London in 1961, this film follows the life of 16-year old Jenny, played by Carey Mulligan. She leads a run of the mill existence for her age and has aspirations to go to Oxford University, until she meets David. David, played by Peter Sarsgaard, seems cultured and open-minded and Jenny is swept off her feet as he introduces her to shows, pubs and weekends away in Paris. She is completely deluded and decides against all dreams of further study.
Scenes depicting David speaking in a child-like manner to Jenny are slightly Lolita-like, as she falls for his devilish charm. The screenplay was adapted from a true story written by Lynn Barber, by Nick Hornby, who manages to add some slightly amusing events to this film.
A movie I really enjoyed and would recommend. 7/10
Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, has been tipped to be one of this year's Oscar Nominations. I love watching Oscar movies, but this one was not only a terrible disappointment, it was also very strange.
The film is directed by Terrence Malik, who also directed Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line. The story takes place in Texas in the 1950s, with Brad Pitt starring as the authoritarian father. Sean Penn, who plays the grown-up oldest son, features for a total of 10 minutes in the whole screenplay. I struggled with the actual theme of the movie. Is there a religious angle? The one pro was the beautiful images of children running outside in the sun, but that is where it ends. I actually had to fast forward through a gruelling 17 minutes, in which there were no people, no speaking, only Discovery Channel-esque images of volcanos, ice and even dinosaurs. Seriously? If I wanted to watch Planet Earth, I would.
I am not the only one who was totally unimpressed. Read here and here.
I recently watched this film on DVD. Directed by Rodrigo Cortes, Buried, is a story of a single man, Paul Conroy, who is buried underground in a coffin. The only character we see in this movie, is played by Ryan Reynolds. I had always thought of him as the comedian in movies such as Van Wilder, but in this film he really bring his acting A-game.
Paul Conroy is an American truck driver working in Iraq. His convoy is attacked and he wakes up to find himself in a wooden coffin with only a cellphone and a Zippo lighter. As he races against time, we watch him hopelessly makes calls to his loved ones and the authorities in America trying aid his rescue.
I didn't think the idea of an entire feature film in a box with one actor would work, but this ingenious idea definitely paid off and is a masterpiece.
Today is Little Miss Medic's 200th post and I just wanted to say thank you to all those who have supported my small endeavour, I really do appreciate it.
In view of this I wanted to use this post to publicise a fellow blogger's massive awareness campaign. I first started following Pharside when I started my own blog. I have loved the wit and sheer brilliance of Marky Mark's posts. He has made use of his blog to create awareness about a horrific event going on. Luckily he has a multitude of followers and it has spread like wildfire over Facebook and other social networks. Without further ado, here is his moving video...
Please repost this video, tell as many people about it as you can and let's stop this from happening!
Whilst I have been in the UK, my cat, Piglet, has been residing at my parent's house. At first they were extremely reluctant to take her, but now she is the apple of their eye and the Queen of the castle. She is very demanding and this little clip reminds me of her.
I am having a bleh week, actually make that a bleh month. Nothing in particular....not enjoying my job...waiting to hear if I got the new job in Cape Town...not exercising, eating badly, have gained a few extra kilos...feeling unmotivated...
...basically just BLEH!
But the cherry on top had to be a few days ago. I was on the tube going to my Bookclub. I was reading my book. I was listening to my iPod. I was basically minding my own business.
Little Miss Medic: (doo-doo-doo....minding my business)
Random Lady: Excuse me (taps me on the arm)
LMM: (doo-doo-doo)...ooh.... (take earphones out)
RL: Excuse me, would you like to sit down?
LMM: No thank you, I am fine standing.
RL: You aren't pregnant are you? (makes universal big-belly-pregnant sign)
LMM: No, I am not.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Great way for life to kick you, whilst you're already down!
So I need a bit of inspiration to get through the rest of the week...
went to a dear friend's 30th birthday party, which was amazing, but made me think about my approaching 3-0 :(
went to watch The Help
spring cleaned the bathroom...armed with yellow gloves, powerspray and my iPod (for those of you who live in SA, DO NOT take your domestic cleaners for granted, I never will!)
ate a yummy bacon and egg fry up, courtesy of The Boyf
I miss my dogs at home in South Africa so much! A friend, Jo, just posted this on FB and it reminded me of how naughty little doggies can be! Just look at how sheepish the culprit looks at the end!
The last few days have been filled with crazy patients, crazy people on the tube, basically crazy people everywhere. It reminded me of Tom Cruise when he went really crazy on Oprah....gotta love this!
It almost looks like he is attacking Oprah at one stage, and poor Katie doesn't look like she actually wants to be on Oprah sans hair and make-up!
I am finally back from my gorgeous holiday in Croatia, a few shades browner, a few kilograms heavier and a few pennies poorer, but it was amazing and a definite must see holiday destination. (I promise to post some more pics soon).
As today is a Monday, and we all hate Mondays, here's something to brighten up your day...
